Grieving the loss of Amy and Rory, the Doctor retreats from the world until governess Clara Oswin Oswald draws him back. Together they face living snow creatures controlled by the Great Intelligence. ClaraΓÇÖs bravery inspires the Doctor to return to adventure. After her death, he discovers she is the same woman he encountered before, deepening the mystery of her repeated existence.
ΓÇ£The SnowmenΓÇ¥ follows the Eleventh Doctor in Victorian London after the loss of Amy and Rory, where he is drawn into a mystery involving living snow creatures and a new companion, Clara Oswald.
Clara Oswald appears as a governess in Victorian London and also as a barmaid with the same name. Her mysterious nature becomes a key ongoing arc in the series.
The Snowmen are animated creatures made of living ice, controlled by the Great Intelligence, and used to terrorise Victorian London.
The Great Intelligence is a recurring alien entity that manipulates others to achieve its goals, often involving control over minds and environments.
This episode begins a new phase of Doctor Who, introducing Clara and showing a more isolated and reflective Eleventh Doctor.
