Arriving in the Old West, the Doctor finds a town terrorized by a cyborg gunslinger seeking an alien doctor named Kahler-Jex. Jex is revealed to be a war criminal who created the gunslinger. The Doctor struggles with whether to hand him over. Ultimately, Jex sacrifices himself to stop the violence. The Doctor confronts his own capacity for vengeance and the burden of moral judgment.
ΓÇ£Asylum of the DaleksΓÇ¥ follows the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond, and Rory Williams as they are forced to enter a Dalek prison planet containing every insane and obsolete Dalek ever created.
The Asylum is a secret Dalek-controlled planet where damaged, unstable, and mentally corrupted Daleks are exiled and left to exist in isolation.
Oswin is a brilliant young woman trapped on the Asylum who helps the Doctor from within the system. Her true nature becomes a major twist in the episode.
Amy and Rory are struggling with the breakdown of their relationship, which is manipulated by external forces and emotional distance between them.
This episode begins the Series 7 era of Doctor Who, introducing darker emotional themes for the Eleventh Doctor and revisiting the Daleks in a psychological setting.
