The Flux continues to disrupt time, allowing the Sontarans to invade EarthΓÇÖs past during the Crimean War. The Doctor and her allies split across timelines to resist the invasion. Dan meets historical figures while Yaz and the Doctor attempt to repair temporal damage. The Sontaran assault is ultimately repelled, but the FluxΓÇÖs destructive spread continues.
The Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, is separated from her companions and ends up in the Crimean War, where history has been altered.
The Sontarans have inserted themselves into the Crimean War, replacing Russian forces and using the conflict as a staging ground for invasion.
Mary Seacole appears as a key historical figure, assisting the Doctor and providing support to soldiers.
The Doctor manipulates the Sontarans into retreating by turning their own strategies against them.
The episode explores war, history, resilience, and the consequences of altering the past.
